Welcome to Wonder!
3 days trekking experience

2 different dates are possible for this trek:
June 7-9th
June 14-16th

bernese oberland, switzerland

Come join me on a hike,

To Bernese Oberland's height

Where summer's early rays do shine

 And nature's beauty is divine.

The mountains high, the air so pure,

A sight that will forever allure

We'll trek the trails and take in views

Of valleys green and skies so blue.

The cows that graze, the flowers that bloom,

A symphony of nature's tune

We'll sit and rest upon the peak

And let our hearts and souls speak.

So come my friend, let's make our way

To  Bernese Oberland's sway

Where nature's grandeur we shall see

And memories we'll make, just you and me.

We will start in a village of Stechelberg and finish here too but arriving from a completely different angle.

Have you ever dreamed of crossing the entire mountain range and end up in a completely secluded different valley where the only sound you hear is your breath and mountain streams? (oh, and perhaps the sound of marmottes and cow bells too..)

We will stay in history rich swiss mountain homes. This is already quite an experience! Both of the houses have been built during Belle Epoque and have still kept the charm if that time.

Day 1:  after getting to know each other, we will go to discover the surroundings of the local villages and soak it the first majesty of the mountains.

Night 1 we will stay in a Historical Hotel in a village of Murren

Day 2: after hiking further through the valley and possibly climbing a peak,

we will stay in a secluded Mountain House in the midst of Stechelberg Valley, full of waterfalls and well hidden beauty.

Not many people know this place yet. It is reputed for hospitality and remoteness, in the evening there is no electricity here...

Day 3: after breakfast we will go to the end of valley to explore mountain glaciers and stunning waterfalls.

We will hike through this stunning valley full of  waterfalls and soak in gorgeous views before returning to the civilization. (sorry...)

'One of the things that I love the most about the hut to hut trekking is that moment when, after long day outside, hiking, soaking it all in and sometimes going through challenging terrains, once of the sudden, you arrive to the mountain hut. Your shelter for the night, your home - where everyone is welcome, no matter your status, physical condition and level of tiredness .'

'I'd sit for hours watching the birds or squirrels, or looking into the faces of flowers. When i discovered a new plant, I sat beside it for a minute or a day, to make its acquaitance and try to hear what it had to tell me.'

John Muir, My Life with Nature

We will stay in 2 authentic and very local mountain houses where traditions are still alive. Just staying here is already an experience that is difficult to find in nowadays....

Mountain Place to Stay Night 2
150 years old Historical Mountain Hotel in the middle of the mountain

Obersteinberg has been in the same family for generations and is run by two sisters, Dori and Manuela von Allmen.

Gazing across the valley from the hotel you'll have spectacular views of hanging glaciers perched above waterfalls that cascade down the valley walls.

Of all the waterfalls, Schmadribachfall is the showstopper with a its impressive height  and immensity. This waterfall has been captured on canvas by noted landscape artists going back to the 1820s, but due to its remote location, more people have seen the paintings than have actually seen the falls.

Obersteinberg is set within a protected area, where many alpine species that were once hunted to near extinction are now making a welcome comeback. Sightings of ibex, chamois, and red deer are frequent and always thrilling. Sheep and cows graze the rich alpine grasses in summer, as they have for hundreds of years. The adjacent farm is a working dairy, the cheese and butter from the farm are served for breakfast.

about trek leader

20171015_140820.jpg

Ruta has done her first hike back in 2013- she then realized that the real life is not happening in the indoor- office environment but rather outside.

This made her realize that she was missing something important in her life- connection with Nature. Since then, most of her time she spends outside- climbing, hiking, wild camping, walking in the forests, parks and other natural places. She has become hiking ‚guru‘ and is now passionate to share the most beautiful places in the Swiss Alps with the others. During her outings she invites participants to experience nature differently: through mindfulness, nature connection practices & human element.

Retreat participants often say that Ruta's passion for Nature is contagious.

Ruta is a professional mountain leader ( Association of Mountain Guides in Switzerland), neuro-coach (Neuroleadership Institute, London), and forest therapy guide (Association of Nature and Forest Therapy, USA).

By creating Be Outside Coaching movement, she has connected her 2 major passions: activities outside and human development.

Be Outside Coaching delivers immersive and holistic Nature experiences in the different corners of the Swiss Alps.

There is yet another way to be, to see , to feel, to lead.

You will never hike the same way again after experiencing this.'  - Be Outside Coaching

What do previous participants say about Be Outside Coaching?

'To be in nature means to experience everything: the sounds, plants, trees- to touch, to feel how everything is changing. It's amazing to see how much nature gives to us. We must experience this again and again. I am so happy that i found out about the Be Outside Coaching.

What Ruta does in those Nature Retreats is amazing and i wish to everyone to experience it.'
