High on Mountain & (Food) 4 day Trek

September 5-8th, 2024 graubunden, switzerland

Unspoiled nature and tranquility is what you'll discover when you trek in the biggest canton in Switzerland- Graubunden.  With its variety of landscapes, ecosystems, history and culture, this place often leaves its visitors speechless.

Graubünden is the largest region in Switzerland, making up 17.2 % of Switzerland’s total land area. Graubünden is also the most sparsely populated region with only 201'376 inhabitants – Switzerland has 8.6 million in total. During this trip you will discover the best of this region- the vistas, the food, places to stay. And the Majesty of the Mountains.

Historical hotels in switzerland

From the grand hotel in the mountains, to the simple historic inn and a former monastery on the lake - every Swiss Historic Hotel has its own story to tell.

The buildings have maintained their historic authenticity and architectural significance – certified by experts – thanks to careful renovations and measures to preserve the past in line with accepted conservation practices. As well as offering high quality hospitality and service, the culinary delights have a long tradition in the Swiss Historic Hotels.

What they all have in common is the charm and warm hospitality for which Switzerland has been renowned for centuries. The dedicated managers of these historic hotels continue to write their stories today. Indulge into the story of the Swiss Historical Hotels.

During this trek we will stay in 2 different hotels:

Bergun Kurhaus ( 1 night )

Chesa Salis in Bever (2 nights)

Bergun Kurhaus was built in 1903 with many modern conveniences at that time and Art Deco style. Being close to Albula pass and part of Bernina railway path, the trip to this place is already an experience. Hotel kept the original style, enhanced by amazing cuisine and, guess what?- incredible SPA facilities. Whatever you do: eat, look through the room of your window, chill in the spa, enjoy your breakfast, you will see Nature Vistas!

Chesa Salis was built as an Engadine farm house in the late 16th century which was then turned into splendid residence. Hotel now features high quality Engadine style decoration and furniture. The rest is to be discovered during your stay here.

About Ruta- outing leader

Ruta did her first hike back in 2013- she then realized that the real life is not happening in the indoor- office environment but rather outside.

This made her realize that she was missing something important in her life- connection with Nature. Since then, most of her time she spends outside- climbing, hiking, wild camping, walking in the forests, parks and other natural places. She has become hiking ‚guru‘ and is now passionate to share the most beautiful places in the Swiss Alps with the others. Retreat participants often say that Ruta's passion for Nature is contagious.

Ruta is a professional mountain leader ( Association of Mountain Guides in Switzerland), neuro-coach (Neuroleadership Institute, London), and forest therapy guide (Association of Nature and Forest Therapy, USA).

Ruta is currently in Bali on her inner journey and will be soon certified meditation & yoga teacher, bringing even more peace and sharing to her retreats.

By creating Be Outside Coaching movement, she has connected her 2 major passions: activities outside and human development. Be Outside Coaching delivers immersive and holistic Nature experiences in the different corners of pristine the Swiss Alps.

Be Outside. Be Authentic. Be You

testimonials from previuos outings

I joined Ruta from Be Outside coaching for a 4 day hiking trip in Appenzell and had a great time. Ruta is a experienced mountain guide that will take you to beautiful places. The trip was perfectly organized, the huts we stayed at where clean, comfortable and offered great food. She also created a relaxing and joyful atmosphere with in the group helping us to connect with nature. Totally recommend Be Outside Coaching. I will definitively join one of Ruta's retreats soon.

Raquel, Swizerland

I had the best four days of my life. This was exactly the experience I needed. To be with like minded people, adventuring and exploring what the incredible Swiss Alps have to offer. I was searching for an intimate, authentic, non-touristy experience and Ruta absolutely provided that.

Beata, Australia

Trekking with Ruta and the Be Outside Coaching team was a life-changing experience. I loved it!

Ruta showed us amazingly gorgeous locations that we would have not found easily without her. And the nature was such a feast for the eyes. Switzerland is so beautiful. Ruta also organized for us to stay in charming historical swiss BNBs with excellent food.

In terms of the actual trek, As a beginner-level hiker, I felt in complete security as Ruta is a certified outdoor coach and also felt challenged in a good way as during our trek we did about 15km a day! It felt like a real accomplishment, yet relaxing at the same time.

I look forward to planning more outings with the Be Outside team! Thank you, Ruta!

Antonella,France

looking forward to seeing you in the mountains!
