This course has been created for those who have apprehension of the mountain and would like to learn how to plan a trip in order to enjoy mountain in a safe way while respecting flora & fauna.
Beginners Welcome! Elevation gain will be very small during this weekend but the views stunning anyway. ( Elevation day 1: 350m+ , Day 2: 250m+, distance for both days: 8km

what to look forward to
Together with a group you’ll hike for 2 days, the hikes will be short, especially day 1. We will take time to learn, share and have fun as well as prepare a camp. For those who are hungry to hike more, we may do a sunset hike after installing the camp.
Not only learning but also- walking, connecting with nature and group, breath taking views and mindfulness practices will allow you to come back to yourself.

Food
​
We do not like eating from the packs or artificial foods. All food is carefully selected and prepared in the evening and morning with healthy ingredients. Food will be vegetarian- vegan. You will need to bring your own lunch for both days.
Food for evening meal & breakfast will be brought by the leader and dispatched among the participants. Expect 300g extra.

Wilderness course: how to plan itinerary, food, respect to nature, safety, etc.

Logistics details:
Need to be at the starting point of the trip at 9.34am on July 20th, 2024, Sierre Valais.
​
We will finish on July 21st at 3pm.
​
Combinable with more extensive travels in Switzerland – advice available upon request.
​
Possible arrangements between participants to arrive 1 night before and sleep already at Sierre.
​
A zoom call will be organized to all participants 6 weeks prior to the outing for a detailed briefing
Payment and Cancellation Policy

to avoid admin management, full price needs to be paid upon registration. 70CHF registration fee is non refundable, the rest:
Fully Refundable up to 1 month to the course
50% refundable 1 month before the course
2 weeks before- non refundable

Gear Needed
You will need your standard hiking gear plus camping gear: tent, sleeping bag & mattress.
Detailed list of material will be sent when registered.

Some of the gear can be rented, prices for 2 days:

Meet Experience creator- Ruta
Ruta has done her first hike back in 2013- she then realized that the real life is not happening in the indoor- office environment but rather outside.
This made her realize that she was missing something important in her life- connection with Nature. Since then, most of her time she spends outside- climbing, hiking, wild camping, walking in the forests, parks and other natural places. She has become hiking ‚guru‘ and is now passionate to share the most beautiful places in the Swiss Alps with the others. During her outings she invites participants to experience nature differently: through mindfulness, nature connection practices & human element.

Ruta is a professional mountain leader ( Association of Mountain Guides in Switzerland), neuro-coach (Neuroleadership Institute, London), and forest therapy guide (Association of Nature and Forest Therapy, USA).
​
By creating Be Outside Coaching movement, she has connected her 2 major passions: activities outside and human development. Be Outside Coaching delivers immersive and holistic Nature experiences in the different corners of the Swiss Alps.
