Imagine- your feet on a wild mountain trail breathing in fresh oxygen and beauty that come in the form of views, sounds and smells.. hiking through the majesty of the wild mountain lakes and waterfalls when, after a long day outside you yet stay Outside and sleep in a tent? Living Outside 24 hours a day.

Welcome to 4 day wild camping experience in the French part of Switzerland - Valais.
Not only you will immerse into wild nature, learn how to camp but also will discover ’Swiss old civilizations’. I know this sounds insane, but you can discover more than 400 years old culture when you hike in Switzerland. You will hike around the most iconic mountain in Switzerland- Matterhorn.

Designed for medium to advanced hikers. If you have never wild camped before but are very keen and have strong fitness level, when you are also welcome to join.
Every day you will hike for 4-5 hours with a stable pace, taking time for being, immersing into incredible views and enjoying group spirit.
We will arrive to the camp- each time next to a wild lake, around 3-4pm every day. Here we will rest, swim, prepare for the night and share stories of the day.
what to look forward to
Together with a group you’ll hike for 4 days and 3 nights staying in a tent, cooking food for yourself and your hiking friends. In the evenings we will gather around the cooking pot or fire and share life and day stories.
Nature inspires being thyself therefore a lot of happen during those conversations, its beautiful to witness how individuals emerge into group spirit while sharing wild experience.
Walking, connecting with nature and group, breath taking views and mindfulness practices will allow you to come back to yourself.

The only thing that we know is that we will meet at 10.14am at the starting point of trip on September 7th.
Meeting place is Zermatt (3h from Zurich and Geneva)

Ruta has done multiple wild camping trips in this region and now is ready to share the best of it with you!

Total Physical effort for 4 days:
28-35km, 2200-3000m+ and 2200-3000m- of elevation gain
The objective is rather not a distance but the inner journey, nature & human connection.

Food
​
We do not like eating from the packs or artificial foods. All food is carefully selected and prepared in the evening and morning with healthy ingredients. Food will be vegetarian- vegan. You will need to bring your own lunch for all days.
For the rest of the food- it will be brought by the leaders at the beginning and dispatched among participants. Expect 1kg extra in total.

A zoom call will be organized to all participants 6 weeks prior to the outing for a detailed briefing

Meet Experience creator- Ruta
Ruta has done her first hike back in 2013- she then realized that the real life is not happening in the indoor- office environment but rather outside.
This made her realize that she was missing something important in her life- connection with Nature. Since then, most of her time she spends outside- climbing, hiking, wild camping, walking in the forests, parks and other natural places. She has become hiking ‚guru‘ and is now passionate to share the most beautiful places in the Swiss Alps with the others. During her outings she invites participants to experience nature differently: through mindfulness, nature connection practices & human element.

Ruta is a professional mountain leader ( Association of Mountain Guides in Switzerland), neuro-coach (Neuroleadership Institute, London), and forest therapy guide (Association of Nature and Forest Therapy, USA).
​
By creating Be Outside Coaching movement, she has connected her 2 major passions: activities outside and human development. Be Outside Coaching delivers immersive and holistic Nature experiences in the different corners of the Swiss Alps.
