March 24-26th, 2023 Graubunden

"To appreciate the beauty of a snowflake it is necessary to stand out in the cold."

Trekking in the region of Graubunden means immersing yourself into wild landscapes, getting to know local life and enjoy local food.

Submerge into the Swiss back country life, wilderness, allow yourself to get away from the hustle & bustle - join us to experience awe and adventure during this 3 day experience at a very special and historical place.

We will walk for 4-5 hours every day hiking or snow shoeing (depending on the conditions in spring) and enjoying wild landscapes. Each day we will make 5-8km with 400-600m+ of elevation gain. This experience is suitable for beginner and medium level hikers or beginners with good fitness condition. But as always in those trips- mindset and motivation are the most important elements.

Welcome to the off-beaten track of Switzerland where traditions are still alive and mountain views take your breath away.

Val Bever - unique, authentic, timeless

It is said that Bever writes the most beautiful stories. And this is not by chance: whoever goes to Val Bever also goes to a fairytale forest where a path leads from story to story through untamed nature. Centrally located, the village on the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the RhB Albula line is also the best starting point for experiences in nature.

Bever is tranquil. It is close to the action and yet far enough away to find peace in the village and its surrounding nature. It is the Engadin houses, the location on the Beverin, and the side valley Val Bever that give the village its charm.

And for those who travel to Bever, the journey itself is it’s own destination because the most beautiful way to Bever goes via the Albula train line, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In summer and in autumn it is the blue of the Beverin flowing through the valley that forms a contrast with the summer and autumn landscape and burns itself into memory. In any case, the Val Bever is by far one of the most beautiful side valleys - and I don't just mean the way to Spinas but particularly what comes after. The solitude - being surrounded by only nature. Whoever is looking for this, will find it here.

Historical place to stay

We will stay in a hotel Chesa Salis- a jewel that is 420 years old. Connoisseurs and individualists who love something special come from near and far to the small, historic property in picturesque Bever near St. Moritz. The Chesa Salis is special in many ways.

The attention to detail of the two owners Jürg & Sibylla Degiacomi and the hostess Philippa von Wittgenstein is visible at first glance, the interior of the Chesa Salis is unique. Whoever visits the rooms cannot help but be amazed. The wood panelling, decorative paintings and stucco work have been left as true to the original as possible. There are only 18 rooms that accommodate hotel guests in the carefully restored historic building, each lovingly furnished. Another highlight is the park-like garden, which invites you to linger and unwind.

About the Outing Leader

IMG_20210121_164209 (1).jpg
Ruta, mountain leader, nature therapy guide & coach

Ruta did her first hike back in 2013- she then realized that the real life is not happening in the indoor- office environment but rather outside.

This made her realize that she was missing something important in her life- connection with Nature. Since then, most of her time she spends outside- climbing, hiking, wild camping, walking in the forests, parks and other natural places. She has become hiking ‚guru‘ and is now passionate to share the most beautiful places in the Swiss Alps with the others. Retreat participants often say that Ruta's passion for Nature is contagious.

Ruta is a professional mountain leader ( Association of Mountain Guides in Switzerland), neuro-coach (Neuroleadership Institute, London), and forest therapy guide (Association of Nature and Forest Therapy, USA).

By creating Be Outside Coaching movement, she has connected her 2 major passions: activities outside and human development. Be Outside Coaching delivers immersive and holistic Nature experiences in the different corners of pristine the Swiss Alps.

Be Outside. Be Authentic. Be You
